The Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County is a grassroots organization rooted in the love a group of concerned Memphians had for neglected animals in our community. For over 90 years, we have worked tirelessly to save animal lives.

Volunteers are at the heart of this mission and absolutely essential to the work that is done every day. Who can volunteer? We encourage everyone in our community who has a passion for animal welfare to check out our volunteer opportunities! We welcome volunteers 18 years and older to join us in our life-saving mission. We will provide you with orientation and training to ensure your time with us is successful, safe, and enjoyable.

When can I volunteer?
