Adoption Manager

The Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County is seeking a compassionate, innovative, and people-focused Adoption Manager to lead one of the most impactful areas of our organization: connecting pets and people through progressive, community-centered adoption practices.

This is more than managing adoptions — it’s about creating opportunities for lifelong bonds, removing barriers for families, and helping more animals find safe, loving homes. The Adoption Manager plays a vital leadership role in shaping the adopter experience, inspiring the community, and advancing lifesaving outcomes across Memphis and Shelby County.

Volunteer Manager

The Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County is seeking an energetic, compassionate, and highly organized Volunteer Manager to lead and grow one of the most vital parts of our organization: our people-powered mission.

This is more than volunteer coordination — it’s community building. The Volunteer Manager serves as the bridge between passionate supporters and lifesaving work, creating meaningful experiences that inspire people to advocate for animals and strengthen our impact across Memphis and Shelby County.

Full Time Veterinary Technician or Assistant

The Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County (HSMSC), with a longstanding tradition of giving hope to homeless and injured animals, seeks to hire a Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join our team. Experience in surgical preparations/assistance, anesthesia, dental procedures, IV catheterization, client education, and overall veterinary nursing is preferred but not required. Recent LVMT graduates are encouraged to apply.

Kennel Technician

Under the leadership of the Canine Care Manager, a Kennel Technician provides daily care, cleaning, training and feeding to dogs at our facility. This position works to ensure the health, safety, comfort, and well-being of animals in our care and adheres to all safety and cleaning/handling policies to prevent the spread of disease. Dog Kennel Technicians are responsible for all daily care of HSMSC dogs, assisting and supporting volunteers in providing exercise and socialization of dogs, and assisting the adoption team in facilitating adoptions as requested.
