Job Opportunity- Animal Behavior Specialist

HSMSC is seeking a dynamic, creative, and knowledgeable Animal Behavior Specialist who is interested in helping vulnerable animals thrive and grow. Under general supervision & leadership of the Animal Care Manager, the Animal Behavior Specialist works closely with Humane Society staff, volunteers, adopters, and the public. The Animal Behavior Specialist develops and oversees enrichment and behavior modification programs for animals in the shelter and foster homes; performs, and trains staff to assist with, canine behavior assessments; provides adoption counseling and post-adoption support regarding behavioral issues; conducts the public training program, implementing puppy socialization and obedience training, and develops and presents workshops and continuing education for staff, volunteers, and the public.
