Introducing Fast & Furriest Dream Teams

Introducing Fast & Furriest Dream Teams

What’s a Dream Team?  It’s group (or team) of walkers and runners in our Fast & Furriest 5K/walk, led by one of our very own Humane Society Dogs or Cats, with the goal to raise funds for the work of the Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County and draw attention to these wonderful adoptable animals.

Run, walk, or cheer for us at your convenience this year!  We have converted all registrations to a virtual status, meaning that participants can run or walk in the location of your choice and post your results to the race website.  We will still have winners, prizes, and the opportunity for our supporters to get out and exercise with your pets.  Stay tuned for additional details on logging your virtual results and for packet pick-up opportunities so that you can get your t-shirt and wag bags!

Dollars raised from The Fast & Furriest 5k and Walk will help us provide medical care, nutritious food, play and activities to keep our animals physically and mentally happy while they find their forever homes. Animals stay with us as long as they need to find a family to love them; no animal is euthanized for space or time.

Meet our Team Captains below and register in honor of their rescue stories, their healing, and the pursuit of their forever homes! By joining one of our Dream Teams, you can help them all.

Won’t you please run, walk, or cheer for them?

Here’s a little more about the teams and their captains:

Join TEAM Pretzel!

Hi! I’m Pretzel, and I am the longest dog resident at the Humane Society – that’s ten months! – I am a very active pup and love to play in my kennel with rope toys, Nylabones, Kongs…you get my drift. I’m not just all pretty brown spots, either! I know commands like sit, down, and shake. I always hear the Humane Society staff say I am sweet, smart, and cuddly. Will you join Team Pretzel today and run, walk, or cheer in my honor?

Join TEAM Daisy!

My name is Daisy! Nice to meet you! As you can see, I am a real knock-out in the looks department. My friends at the Humane Society even call me a miniature horse because I am so tall, but I am also a big cuddle bug. I am working hard on learning commands and have a big heart. I am ready to share with my forever family! Will you join Team Daisy today and run, walk, or cheer in my honor?

Join TEAM Aniese!

Hello! I am Aniese, and I am a very active dog that LOVES to play outside in the yards at the Humane Society. I am a young pup at only ten months old with lots of energy to share! I am working on learning tricks like fetch, and long walks are my favorite. Will you join team Aniese today and run, walk, or cheer in my honor?

Join TEAM Jack!

I’m Jack, and I can tell you, the dogs aren’t the only ones that know how to have fun! I am a big, handsome guy and am a bit of an introvert, but the Humane Society staff can vouch for the fact that I am a sweetie.

My two favorite things are food and sleep, but I’m ready to show these dogs who’s boss by heading up my own team!

Will you join TEAM Jack today and run, walk, or cheer in my honor?

Join TEAM Snoop!

My name is Snoop, and I am a cool dude! I love everyone that I meet, except cats, because the staff at the Humane Society says I’m a little too energetic for the kitty cats. I am very active and love to run and go for long walks, but I also like to cuddle when I’m finished playing. I know how to sit, lay down, spin and stay, too! Will you join TEAM Snoop today and run, walk, or cheer in my honor?

Join TEAM Queennie!

I’m Queennie. It’s nice to meet you! At six years old, I am a senior doggy here at the Humane Society. I am a fluffy chow mix and love to cuddle once I get to know you. Sometimes I am a little shy around new people, but once I get a good sniff or two, I will be your best friend. Will you join team Queennie today and run, walk, or cheer in my honor?
