LOW-INCOME VACCINATIONS

Low-Income Vaccinations

Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, we will have four vaccine clinics in 2019! We have vaccinated over 550 animals through the first 3 events.  The last one will be on Saturday, December 14th from 9am-Noon.

HSMSC hosts low-cost vaccination events each year for Shelby County residents who receive government assistance. Supplies are limited and are given on a first-come, first-served basis. These events are hosted as funding permits. If you’d like to be notified via email of future low-cost vaccination events, fill out the form below.

Vaccines will be available for $5 per pet, which includes rabies vaccine plus a 4-in-1 shot for dogs and cats. The option to purchase a rabies tag onsite will be available for $6 for spayed/neutered dogs and $16 for intact dogs. Cats do not require a rabies tag or certification. Dogs must be on leash, and cats must be in a carrier. Please bring proof of income qualification.  You will enter the event from the Code Enforcement parking lot and proceed down the gravel road.  There we will have volunteers to help you with paperwork and collecting the $5 per pet donation.  You and your pets will stay in your vehicle during the event to help keep everyone comfortable! We reserve the right to refuse any animal that poses a risk to our staff or volunteers.

Fill out the form below to be notified when we host a low-cost vaccine clinic.

  • Income qualifiers include any of the following:
    • SS: Social Security
    • DB: disability (if someone can show proof that they have applied for disability and are waiting for approval, we will service them)
    • UE: unemployment benefits
    • FS: food stamps
    • MD: Tenn Care/Medicare/Medicaid
    • WIC
    • RL: Reduced Lunch
    • S8: Section 8 Housing

No animal at the Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County is euthanized for time or space.  This is possible because of the generosity of our supporters.
