National Immunization Awareness Month: Why it’s important to stay up on your shots!

Just like with humans, it’s important to keep your pets up to date on their vaccines! August marks the start of National Immunization Awareness Month for pets, which seeks to promote the importance of pet vaccinations. Immunizations for your pets are important because they prevent diseases from spreading to other pets or humans; protect your pet from certain illnesses; and save money on otherwise costly treatments.    One of the Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County’s goals is to promote human wellness through animal companionship, and we’re committed to educating pet owners about the importance of vaccines, as well as making immunizations accessible to everyone.
