HSMSC Helps with Louisiana Floods

In August, the Humane Society of the United States, a national animal welfare organization, sent their recovery vans down to the Baton Rouge, Louisiana, flooding to help with the relief efforts. HSUS helped make room for displaced flood dogs by taking dogs that were already in shelters before the flooding started and transferring them to other areas in the region. HSMSC was one of the shelters that was able to take some of the Louisiana shelter dogs in order to make room for flood victims. We received 12 dogs from Louisiana, including 1-year-old male labrador retriever Cypress, left, who was adopted in October. The Humane Society of Saline County in Arkansas provided the transport (transport van pictured above) for dogs that HSMSC took in, as well as dogs that HSSC took in. Read More
